Afghan evacuees celebrate a score during a match of the International Cricket Council T20 World Cup between Afghanistan and Scotland at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Oct. 25, 2021. This event was organized to allow Afghan personnel a chance to watch their home country compete on the world stage as they continue their immigration process here. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
