A Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle, controlled by a tablet-based interface, visually inspects a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device during Constant Vigilance on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 19, 2021. After a visual confirmation of a simulated vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, Security Guard Force, Camp Courtney, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, conducted response measures to include detainee handling, EOD robotics techniques, and vehicle inspection procedures. Constant Vigilance is an island-wide force protection condition evaluation and crisis response to validate regional, installation, camp, and tenant antiterrorism and mission assurance plans and policies.
