Camp Hansen responds to an active shooter exercise for Constant Vigilance 2021

U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. William Hogan, a Military Police officer, with Provost Marshal’s Office, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, directs Marines to provide security during a notional, active-shooter scenario as part of Exercise Constant Vigilance 2021 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 21, 2021. First responders and camp personnel aboard MCB Camp Butler eliminated the simulated threat and were able to tend to all casualties in the area who were indirectly fired upon. Exercise Constant Vigilance is an annual exercise that prepares U.S. Forces, the local and prefectural government, civilians, and emergency personnel to work side-by-side in response to force protection, anti-terrorism, and installation breaches.
