Camp Hansen responds to an active shooter exercise for Constant Vigilance 2021

A Firefighter with Marine Corps Installations Pacific Fire and Emergency Services, walks toward injured personnel in order to give medical-aid during a notional, active-shooter scenario as part of Exercise Constant Vigilance 2021 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 21, 2021. First responders and camp personnel aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Butler eliminated the simulated threat and were able to tend to all casualties in the area. Exercise Constant Vigilance is an annual exercise that prepares U.S. Forces, the local and prefectural government, civilians, and emergency personnel to work side-by-side in response to force protection, anti-terrorism, and installation breaches.
