U.S. Marines with Provost Marshal’s Office, with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler and Camp Hansen, Camp Guards secure the outer perimeter of the active site during a notional, active-shooter scenario as part of Exercise Constant Vigilance 2021 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 21, 2021. First responders and camp personnel aboard MCB Camp Butler eliminated the simulated threat and were able to tend to all casualties in the area who were indirectly fired upon. Exercise Constant Vigilance is an annual exercise that prepares U.S. Forces, the local and prefectural government, civilians, and emergency personnel to work side-by-side in response to force protection, anti-terrorism, and installation breaches.
