A shipment of 1.6 million U.S.-donated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses were unloaded at the airport in Cairo, Egypt, on Oct. 16, 2021. This is the second such shipment of vaccine doses donated by the U.S. government to Egypt to date. In addition to the 3.2 million Pfizer vaccine doses donated by the U.S. government, as of Oct. 16, 2021, USAID has provided $55 million to support Egypt’s response to and recovery from COVID-19.
