Non Government Organizations hold classes for Afghan men, women, and children evacuees at the living support area as part of Operations Allies Welcome, Fort Lee, Virginia, Oct. 20, 2021. Evacuees receive briefs on how to apply for jobs, careers and other opportunities during the employment class. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
