U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), drive a light tactical all-terrain vehicle (MZRZ) during exercise Dark Horse on Camp Futenma, Okinawa, Japan Oct. 14, 2021. Exercise Dark Horse was a battalion sized field exercise that incorporated Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations concepts. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
