    SAN DIEGO (Oct. 15, 2021) Chief Hospital Corpsman Mariaconcepcion Bucao, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) San Diego’s medical surgical department leading chief petty officer (center left), and Hospitalman Apprentice Jorge Beltranzepeda, a Sailor assigned to NMRTC San Diego’s emergency department (left), cut a cake with a cutlass during the Navy’s 246th birthday celebration at the hospital Oct. 15. The theme of the celebration for 2021 is “Resilient and Ready,” which addresses the Navy’s perseverance and maintenance of force lethality and preparedness. NMRTC San Diego's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research.
