U.S. Air Force Airman Jared Lovett, 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs apprentice, takes a photo of the Berlin Wall memorial outside the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Oct. 1, 2021. Lovett wrote a story about the new memorial location that was stood up in time to celebrate German Unity Day. German Unity Day commemorates the day that all the German states became part of the same country again after the German Democratic Republic voted to abolish itself and join the democratic Federal Republic of Germany along with the other German states on Oct. 3, 1990.
