U.S. Marines with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, participate in a timed swim event on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 12, 2021. This is a precursor event to Strip Map, a specialized evaluation used to determine the efficacy of experimental ground formations. Strip Map contributes to the unit’s mission to test new gear, operating concepts and force structures in order to advise ongoing Force Design 2030 efforts in refining infantry units.
