William Brigance, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, lock and dam mechanic and mobile command vehicle support specialist, collects Operation Blue Roof requests in Galliano, Louisiana, Oct. 9. Brigance and a team of USACE employees are currently accepting rights of entry request to install temporary blue roofs over houses that were damaged during Hurricane Ida. The deadline to apply for the free service is Oct. 15. You can learn more about the program and apply online by visiting www.blueroof.us or by calling 888-ROOF-BLU.
To date, USACE and its contractors have installed more than 22, 000 blue roofs within 25 parishes.
