A Japanese pilot with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Air Rescue Squadron 71 flips a switch on a ShinMaywa US-2 aircraft while conducting sea rescue training off the coast of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Oct. 5, 2021. The exercise demonstrated Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Air Rescue Squadron 71’s ability to quickly respond to crisis and showcased the aircraft’s air-sea rescue capabilities.
