U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Zander Carbajal, operations officer of 3d Landing Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group, performs a deadlift for the weight-lifting event during the Lander Trials on Camp Foster, Oct. 6, 2021. 3d LSB conducts the Lander Trials, a series of physically demanding workouts and group activities, in order to test the battalion’s combat readiness and to promote camaraderie. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
