RED SEA (July 6, 2021) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Thomas Bant, signals an AH-1Z Viper Helicopter, attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), during flight operations on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17) in the Red Sea, July 6. San Antonio is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
