U.S. Airmen assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing Honor Guard stand during a closing ceremony for the 24-hour POW/MIA vigil run Sept. 17, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The ceremony concluded with the flag being folded symbolizing honor and tribute to those who gave a portion of their life for the defense of our country to attain peace. The 56th FW hosts this event annually in observance of National POW/MIA Recognition Day to honor and remember those who endured enemy captivity and those who made the supreme sacrifice and have yet to return home.
