U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jose Romo, a fire support Marine assigned to 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liason Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, communicates with Marines on the ground and in the air while conducting a communications planning exercise on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 23, 2021. The purpose of the exercise was to ensure that the Marines are able to conduct surface to surface fires as well as air to surface fires in support of friendly forces. III MIG functions as the vangaurd of III MEF, operating in the Indo-Pacific region's information environment, and supports Marine Air Ground Task Force operations with communications, intelligence, and supporting arms liason capabilities.
