U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Damion Wiltshire, 368th Financial Management Support Unit, 451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 79th Theater Sustainment Command, Wichita, Kan., attempts to apply a clinch hold on Staff Sgt. Alex McGowan, a career counselor for Area 1, 9th Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Group during a Modern Army Combatives Level One Basic Combatives Course taught by the counselors at the Lanny J. Wallace Reserve Center in Wichita Sept. 2, 2021. The Soldiers, who received Assistant Instructor certifications, were tested in the Option 3 drill finale after passing Battle Drills 1 and 2. The Option 3 drill gives Soldiers confidence to close with the enemy.
