    Much of northern stretch of the Persian Gulf was obscured by a dust storm on April 17, 2004. This true-color image was acquired by the modis.gsfc.nasa.gov'' target=''_blank Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA's aqua.nasa.gov'' target=''_blank Aqua satellite. Earlier that same day, the MODIS instrument aboard the Terra satellite acquired rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/gallery/?2004108-0417/PersianGulf.A2004108.0720'' target=''_blank another image of the event.
