The celebration encourages Americans to reflect on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and what it means to be a U.S. citizen. Parra, currently a senior airman assigned to the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, became a U.S. citizen April 17, 2018, and joined the Air Force April 2, 2019.
