An Airman from the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron levels drying concrete to complete the repair of a replicated runway a during rapid airfield damage recovery exercise at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Sept. 15. As the theater gateway of U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility, maintaining a functional runway is key to delivering decisive combat power and support throughout the theater.
