Donated shoes paired up and separated by size are ready to be given out to Families on Doña Ana Village, Sept. 13. DoD Officials established a building on Doña Ana Village that provides donated shoes to Families. The shoe-only donation building was established after guest feedback requested a better distribution method. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
