1st Lt. Roderick Britt, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, attends to a little girl after she was fitted for and received new shoes at the Doña Ana shoe-only donation building. Children are paired up with a volunteer to fit and size each person who enters for new shoes. DoD Officials established a building on Doña Ana Village that provides shoe-only donations in an effort to separate the various types of donated supplies available within the Village. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan. (U.S. Army photo by Lt. Col. Allie Payne, 1st Armored Division Public Affairs)
