EAST CHINA SEA (Sept. 4, 2021) Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Sailors observe as Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) conducts a replenishment-at-sea with JMSDF Towada-class replenishment oiler JS Tokiwa (AOE 423). Barry is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
