NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Sept. 2, 2021) Cmdr. Shannon Blackmer, the senior medical officer aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), renders a salute during her official departure from the command. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard.
