Soldiers from the Texas National Guard and Minnesota Army National Guard shake hands with Egyptian Armed Forces officials after arriving at Borg El Arab International airport, Sept. 1. The National Guard unit is participating in Exercise Bright Star from September 2-17, 2021, at Mohamed Naguib Military Base, Egypt. Bright Star 2021 is a multilateral exercise hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt with support from the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM). The exercise contains three key events: a Command-Post Exercise (CPX), Field Training Exercise (FTX), and a Senior Leader Seminar which strengthens relationships and enhances military interoperability between the U.S. and Egyptian Armed Forces.
