210826-N-HH215-1127 PACIFIC OCEAN (August 27, 2021) An F-35C Lightning II, assigned to the “Argonauts” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, launches off the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in support of a mine counter measure exercise (MINEX), August 27, 2021. MINEX was designed to exercise U.S. joint force employment capabilities, global power projection, sea control to counter malign influence, deter adversarial aggression, assure allies and partners of U.S. commitment to the region, and enhance the overall readiness of our strategic forces. Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with allies and partners to serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
