Australian Army soldiers and U. S. Marines with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company detachment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, coordinate close air support for a company attack on Objective Dingo during Exercise Koolendong, Bradshaw Field Training Area, NT, Australia, Aug. 29, 2021. The fires team conducted the support operations in order to neutralize enemy ground forces for the infantry to seize the objective. Exercises like Koolendong validate MRF-D’s and the Australian Defence Force’s ability to conduct expeditionary command and control operations, demonstrating the shared commitment to being ready to respond to a crisis or contingency in the Indo-Pacific region.
