Astronaut Soichi Noguchi, STS-114 mission specialist representing Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA, participates in the mission's first scheduled session of extravehicular activity EVA. Noguchi has mounted the Space Station Remote Manipulator System SSRMS Canadarm2 in the orbiter Discovery's payload bay.
