Cobra Gold 21: Royal Thai, US Armed Forces strengthen partnership through humanitarian civic action

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Joey Hernandez, a combat engineer with Bridge Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, and Stockton, California native, paints the exterior of the Baan Mai Thai Pattana School, during Exercise Cobra Gold 21, in Sa Kaeo province, Kingdom of Thailand, Aug. 3, 2021. Hernandez and fellow Marines joined members of the Royal Thai Mobile Development Unit 12 to construct an 8 X 20-meter multipurpose facility that will help accommodate the school’s growing number of students, enable educational opportunities and community development, and continue to strengthen bonds between the U.S. and Thai Armed Forces. Cobra Gold 21 emphasizes security cooperation as well as civic actions, such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and seeks to expand regional cooperation among like minded allies and partners.
