Sahuarita Town Hall marked the location of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s public meeting with Pima County residents Aug. 5 in Sahuarita, Arizona. Representatives with the LA District hosted the meeting to inform residents about potential hazards associated with munitions that may remain on formerly used defense sites in the county and the remedial actions already completed and still underway. Pictured in front of the town hall is the Sahuarita sundial, which was built in 2008, and designed by John Carmichael and Jake Honeycutt. The design features a south-facing canal and water fountain, and according to the North American Sundial Society, the dial functions best during mid-day.
