Large fuel hoses connecting to the USS Bonhomme Richard and the USNS Pacos pumps over 800,000 gallons of fuel during a Replenishment At Sea operation here, September 4. Over 260 pallets of food and supplies were transferred using a FA-330J Puma Helicopter which was broken down and placed into its respective places throughout the ship by a 100-man working party. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps' force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
