210801-M-JM820-1038 MOHAMMED AL-AHMAD NAVAL BASE, Kuwait (August 1, 2021) A landing craft, air cushion transports Marines and equipment assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) at Mohammed Al-Ahmad Naval Base, Kuwait, Aug. 1. The 24th MEU is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
