A U.S. Marine with Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conducts flight operations in support of exercise Talisman Sabre 21 in the Coral Sea July 29, 2021. This is the ninth iteration of Talisman Sabre, a large-scale, bilateral military exercise between Australia and the U.S. involving more than 17,000 participants from seven nations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
