A fifth-grader receives assistance putting his earplugs in place before he and his classmates walk out to the flight line on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point to see a KC-130J Hercules transport plane Sept. 26. Twenty-eight students from St. Paul Catholic School in nearby New Bern, N.C., took a field trip to the air station to visit the Hercules squadron and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 467. “It’s very positive and helpful for them to understand what their U.S. Military does, because at the end of the day, it is their military,” said Hercules pilot Maj. Edward Fergus.
