210717-M-TT571-1068 ARABIAN GULF (July 17, 2021) – Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) embark a Landing Craft Utility 1661 from the well deck of dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) in the Arabian Gulf, July 17. The 24th MEU is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the central region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
