PACIFIC OCEAN (Jul. 26, 2021) Sailors assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) and the Wildcards of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, perform a foreign object debris (FOD) walkdown prior to flight quarters on the flight deck. A FOD walkdown is designed to get as many people as possible to walk the entire flight deck to retrieve trash, rocks, loose metal objects, or anything else that may be or could become a hazard.
