Engineman 3rd Class Alexander Lamoureaux, assigned to U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard “Drill Team Platoon”, packages diapers at Happy Bottoms during a community relations event in Kansas City, Missouri July 1, 2021. Happy Bottoms collaborates with community partners to empower, connect, and impact low-income families by alleviating diaper need in the Kansas City community. The event was part of Kansas City Navy Week, the first in-person Navy Week since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing Sailors from different Navy units across the U.S. to conduct focused outreach with members of the community. Navy Weeks consist of a series of events coordinated by the Navy Office of Community Outreach designed to give Americans an opportunity to learn about the Navy, its people and its importance to national security and prosperity.
