U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jackson Kolb (right) receives a certificate of appreciation by the New Bern Military Alliance at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, June 30, 2021. Kolb, a native of West Palm Beach, Florida, was nominated for the award for more than 20 hours of volunteer service for Habitat for Humanity through the Single Marine Program and for volunteering at local elementary schools for back to school preparation. Kolb is a digital wide band system maintainer assigned to Marine Wing Communication Squadron 28, which is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. 2nd MAW is the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force.
