Summers, a Bowman, S.C., native, now a platoon sergeant with A Battery, 1st Battalion, 377th Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Fires Brigade, watches a wave of dirt and loose grass roll toward him as a CH-47 Chinook helicopter moves toward his position while participating in sling load operations training during Operation Rising Thunder at Yakima Training Center here, Sept. 18, 2012. Soldiers with 17th FiB are participating in Operation Rising Thunder to hone their war fighting skills and strengthen their partnership with other units and international allies.
