Jeff Joseph, officer in charge of Sea Trials and commanding officer of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) unit at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, advises NROTC midshipmen in ship movement simulations using the conning officer virtual environment (COVE) trainer during Sea Trails at Training Command, Newport (OTCN), Rhode Island, June 23. Sea Trials is a 10-day milestone event where NROTC midshipmen demonstrate the skills they have learned throughout their training. Sea Trials provides midshipmen with a realistic training, leadership and qualification experience in a high-stress and demanding environment.
