The families of approximately 20 Marines from Marine Attack Squadron 211 waited with excitement and smiles as their Avengers returned from a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan's Helmand Province, Sept. 22. The group was an advance party, responsible for setting up everything the rest of the squadron will need upon their arrival at a later date. The squadron was touched by tragedy Sept. 15, after an attack on their positions at Camp Bastion killed two Marines and injured several others.
