A U.S. Marine with Marine Corps Air Station Miramar cuts open the sand bags he was given at the beginning of the Martial Arts Instructors Course 148-21 culminating event on Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California, May 27, 2021. Upon opening the bag, the Marines found inside their new Marine Corps Martial Arts Program belts their instructor tabs. The culminating event is the last event of the 3-week-long course and tests the martial arts skills, mental discipline, warrior spirit, and warfighting mentality of the future Marine Corps Martial Arts Program instructors.
