Brendan Bodenmiller, A High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launcher chief with Quebec Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepares for a simulated fire mission at White Beach, Okinawa, Japan, June 15, 2021. Simulated fire missions allow HIMARS crews to gain valuable training in providing rapid and precise fires in support of 31st MEU personnel. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
