Ens. Joshua Mason uses a stadimeter while standing conning officer under instruction watch aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Wasp. The stadimeter is an instrument used to measure distances between two points. Wasp conducted a replenishment at sea while underway for scheduled sea operations.
