    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    A U.S. Marine with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), tactically moves away the CH-53 E, Super Stallion during the Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team (HAST) drill aboard the USS Germantown in the Philippine Sea, June 12, 2021 The HAST is the first to arrive in an area in need of assistance after a humanitarian crisis or natural disaster. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
