    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Daniel Maycroft, a radio operator with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), tactically moves toward the MV-22 Osprey during the Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team (HAST) mission run-through aboard the USS GERMANTOWN in Okinawa, Japan, June 12, 2021. The HAST is the first to arrive in an area in need of assistance after a humanitarian crisis or natural disaster. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
