A custom-built carbon fiber rocket is launched by the STABASE Los Alamitos youth rocketry team for The American Rocketry Challenge, May 8, 2021, at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California. The competition’s 100 lowest scoring teams will earn a national finals invitation. The rocketry team is a follow-on extracurricular science, technology, engineering and math program for Los Alamitos-area middle and high school students.
