Brig. Gen. (Retired) Abu Naim Md Shahidullah, Bangladesh's Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense talks with U.S. Army, Pacific Deputy Commander, Army National Guard, Maj. Gen. Joseph Chaves during the third annual Pacific Resilience Disaster Response Exercise & Exchange. During the opening ceremony Chaves emphasized the importance of civilian and military cooperation and interoperability between the U.S. and Bangladesh. The goal of the 4-day exercise is to bring together both civilian and military professionals and improve interoperability and response planning in the wake of a potential catastrophic earthquake event.
