U.S. Army Spc. Keshawn Gadison, a Canton, Ohio native and carpentry and masonry specialist assigned to the 1192nd Engineer Company, from the Camp Ravenna National Guard deployed in support of COVID-19 vaccine operations at the state-run, federally-supported Wolstein Community Vaccination Center (CVC) in Cleveland, on March 13th, 2021 and will be ending his deployment on June 7th, 2021. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19. Gadison help setup the COVID-19 vaccine center. Once setup and seeing community members come in, Gadison reflects on what he saw during his deployment.
“Just seeing all the smiles on their faces and everyone thanking us was amazing,” said Gadison.
The happiness he saw from community members and his commitment to help people, is what motivated Gadison during his deployment.
“How happy everyone was motivated me,” said Gadison. “Why be negative in the first place when you’re helping people out.”
Gadison is a social media motivational speaker and goes to school full time. He doesn’t want the deployment to end but now he can focus on school and the content he’s creating now. A life changing mission, coming to a close for his team.
“I don’t want the deployment to end but now I’m ready to focus on my content and school,” said Gadison. “It was a great opportunity and I was happy to be part of it.”
